Peter Henderson racked up one point to lead the Wisconsin Whalers to a 5-2 victory over the St. Louis Jr. Blues.
Wisconsin managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Whalers wound up below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. Wisconsin forced St. Louis goalie William Hindle to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.
Wisconsin also got points from Kaleb Morley, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Wisconsin also got a goal from Alex Anderson as well. More assists for Wisconsin came via Will Holtan, Joe Perrelle, Niko Keranen, Adam Alcott, Adam Schoenfeld, and Austin Lewis, who contributed one each.
The Jr. Blues were helped by Chris Brown, who grabbed one goal. Brown scored 19:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Zane OBryan also scored for St. Louis. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Trevor Thornton and Daniel Dunaway, who each chipped in one.
The Whalers\’ Chris Johansen stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Wisconsin registered one goal on five power play opportunities. William Hindle made 45 saves for St. Louis on 49 shots. The Jr. Blues incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
