West Michigan downs St. Louis, 4-1

Alex Olsen racked up one point to lead the West Michigan Wolves to a 4-1 victory over the St. Louis Jr. Blues.

West Michigan also got points from Steven Rhodes, who also had one goal and one assist. West Michigan also had goals scored by Michael Tratar and Matt Shultz, who scored one goal each. More assists for West Michigan came via Dakota Ulmer, who had two and Josh Somers and Devin Farkas, who contributed one each.

St. Louis managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. The Jr. Blues finished below its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. St. Louis was held below its usual level of production. The Jr. Blues put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game.

St. Louis was led by Tommy Heinzman, who scored the team\’s only goal. Heinzman scored 2:56 into the third period to make the score 3-1 West Michigan. Franky Melton provided the assist.

Kyler Patenaude made 24 saves for West Michigan on 25 shots. The Wolves incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. William Hindle rejected 26 shots on goal for the Jr. Blues. St. Louis registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For the Jr. Blues, Heinzman was ejected from the game.
