Turnbull Is The Latest Jr. Blues Alumni To Get An NHL Call

Former Jr. Blues forward Travis Turnbull was recalled by the Buffalo Sabres of the NHL yesterday.  In a Sabres release:

Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that forward Travis Turnbull has been recalled on an emergency basis from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

A native of Chesterfield, MO, Turnbull (7/7/86, 6'0", 197 lbs) will join the Sabres on his first NHL recall after being signed by the Sabres on April 6, 2009.

Turnbull has 27 points (12+15) and 94 penalty minutes in 53 games for the Americans this season. In four AHL seasons, Turnbull has totaled 54 points (26+28) and 225 penalty minutes in 133 games with the Americans and the Portland Pirates.  

Turnbull becomes the 5th member of the Jr. Blues to make an NHL roster this year joining Paul Stastny (Colorado), Chris Butler (Calgary), Joe Vitale (Pittsburgh), and Brandon Bollig (Chicago).
