Mar 29, 2018

Blake Bjella posted a shutout, stopping all 18 of the Binghamton Junior Senators shots throughout the game. The St. Louis Jr. Blues took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Jake Cox and never looked back.

Ben Jones chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Bud Winter had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Cox opened the scoring for St. Louis with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:53 with helpers from his teammates Mcatee and Capkovic.

In the second, Jones deposited a goal at 3:57 with helpers from Winter and Capkovic. Jones quickly followed with a goal at 5:02 with assists from Galaguzov and Hatton. Winter scored a goal at 13:20 with assists from Shively and Jones.

The Jr. Blues’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Bjella’s shutout, as he stopped all 18 of the shots he faced. Bjella’s counterpart, Burgess, also had a big night, managing to stop 31 of 35, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the St. Louis Jr. Blues’ record to (3-0-0-0).
