A QUICK RECAP: The Jr. Blues come into this weekend’s games following a bye week.

GALAGUZOV COMES BACK: Forward Ivan Galaguzov returns to St. Louis this weekend after starting the season with the NAHL’s Springfield Jr. Blues. The Yekaterinburg, Russia native scored 67 points (23 G, 44 A) in his first season in North American hockey last year.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: The Whalers are still looking for their first win of the year, after being swept at home by North Iowa in their opening series. Not unlike the Jr. Blues, they are having to replace much of last season’s offensive firepower, with their top three scorers from last season—who between them accounted for 202 of the team’s 372 total points scored—all moving on to other teams. St. Louis and Wisconsin played four times last season, with the Jr. Blues winning all four meetings.

JUNIOR NOTES: The home opener for the Jr. Blues is just two weeks away, on Friday, October 6 against the North Iowa Bulls. Faceoff is at 7 pm, and following the conclusion of the game fans will get a chance to skate for free with Jr. Blues players. It is strongly recommended that those who wish to jump on the ice bring their own skates: while the Affton Ice Rink will have a small number of skates to borrow, sizes are limited and they do not have rental skates.
