AWARDS TIME: Defenseman Jake Faulkner picked up the NA3HL/Bauer Central Division Star of the Week award on the back of his nine-point weekend (3 goals, 6 assists). Forward Matt Monreal, who posted identical numbers to Faulkner, was named as an Honorable Mention.

SCOUTING THE ‘JACKS: Like the Jr. Blues, the men from Minnesota have yet to concede a goal, with their only game this season being a 10-0 win over the Rochester Grizzlies. Granite City returns a number of key players from last year’s Fraser Cup semifinalist team, including goalie David Mulligan and forwards Sam Ohmes and Grant Troumbly. The Jr. Blues and Lumberjacks faced each other a total of five times last season: the regular season series was an even split, 2-2 with both teams sweeping at home, while the ‘Jacks won in overtime in the Fraser Cup Finals group stage.

JUNIOR NOTES: The Jr. Blues have a bye next weekend, but mark your calendars for their home opener on October 4 at 7 pm against the North Iowa Bulls. Be sure to get there early as we’ll have giveaways from our sponsors, $1 draft beers at Barc’s Place, and much more.
