A QUICK RECAP: The Jr. Blues beat Milwaukee in their home opener by a 6-3 final score.
AWARDS TIME: Forward Sean Hofstetter had a stellar afternoon last Sunday, with a four-point night highlighted by a hat-trick. This not only got him the #2 spot on the NA3HL’s Plays of the Week (his second goal being an excellent deflection in front of goal) but also the honor of Bauer/NA3HL Central Division Star of the Week.
SCOUTING THE POWER: Milwaukee will be searching for their first win of the season this weekend, but have already shown that they plan on being a competitor in a tough Central Division. Not unlike the Jr. Blues, they had to do quite a bit of re-building in the off-season: only four players on their 2019-20 roster suited up for the Power last season. This will be Milwaukee’s second “three in three” in as many weeks: this week they play Rochester on Friday before their series with the Jr. Blues, while last weekend they had a home-and-home set with Peoria ahead of their trip to Affton.
JUNIOR NOTES: The Jr. Blues will be back at home next weekend for a re-match of last year’s Central Division Final series against the Coulee Region Chill. Game times are 8:20 pm on Friday, 7 pm on Saturday, and a 1 pm Sunday matinee.
