A QUICK RECAP: The Jr. Blues enter the weekend after a hard-fought split with Milwaukee in Wisconsin, losing 2-1 on Friday night before winning 6-5 on Saturday. The latter game saw the Jr. Blues win it in the last minute of regular time, as Ivan Galaguzov tied up proceedings with 55 seconds left before Milwaukee native Matt Monreal scored with 20 seconds on the clock to secure the two points.

FOUCHI-MAMA!: Earlier this week, Mikaël Foucher was named NA3HL/Vaughn Goaltender of the Month for October. The Montreal native posted a 5-1-0 record last month, with a 1.98 GAA and 130 saves on 140 shots faced.

FIRST RESPONDERS WEEKEND:Saturday marks the Jr. Blues’ 3rdannual game in support of local firefighters, police officers, and EMTs. The Jr. Blues will be wearing commemorative jerseys that afternoon, to be auctioned off post-game in support of Responder Rescue. In addition, we will have sponsor giveaways from Jimmy John’s and Chick-Fil-A at that game, amongst other promotions.

SCOUTING THE CHILL: Coulee Region comes to St. Louis sitting in fourth place in the Central Division, but only because they have played a mere 10 games due to a quirk of scheduling. Last year’s NA3HL semifinalists have a large amount of returning talent with NAHL experience, including Brady Lindauer (9 G, 15A), Tom Magnavite (11 G, 6 A) and Toon de Schepper (3 G, 15 A). The men from La Crosse, Wisc. also bring a large and varied amount of international flavor to the rink, with a Frenchman, two Belgians, and a Russian all on their roster.

JUNIOR NOTES: Mark your calendars for November 17th, when the Jr. Blues and the Affton Bantam AA team will be having a special fundraiser at Nubby’s BBQ (11133 Lindbergh Business Ct, inside the All American Sports Center). That day the Jr. Blues play Evansville at 2:15, and the dinner will begin at 6:30 after the conclusion of the game.
