A QUICK RECAP: St. Louis had a bye last weekend, but preceded it with a hard-fought split against the Granite City Lumberjacks on the last weekend of October. Friday saw the Jr. Blues fall 3-1, while Saturday was much kinder to the visitors, as they won 5-2.

OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS: Multiple Jr. Blues players have either been called up by or invited to skate with NAHL clubs over the past few days. Last weekend, Seamus Campbell was promoted to the Springfield Jr. Blues as an affiliate player, scoring a goal on debut. Goalie Will Oliver has also traveled up Highway 55 to man the nets at SJB practice, and defenseman Joey Boccardi will join Springfield on their two-week trip to Alaska as an affiliate player as well. Most recently, forwards Joey Solimando and Evan Ross skated with the NAHL’s Janesville Jets.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS: Peoria is currently locked in a dogfight with Coulee Region for 3rd in the Central Division, sitting three points back of the Chill with a 6-8-1 record. Already the Mustangs have made several reinforcements to their team, including picking up defenseman Ryan Payne from Milwaukee and forward Quin Murphy from the NAHL, and both have made an impact: Murphy has nine points in eight games, while Payne has a +7 rating since his trade. Last weekend, Peoria went on the road to both Rochester and Coulee Region, losing both games by identical 5-3 scores.
