A QUICK RECAP: St. Louis picked up a crucial sweep of Peoria in last weekend’s home-and-home series, winning 4-1 in St. Louis before claiming a 3-2 overtime win in Peoria. Will Baginski’s overtime winner on Saturday capped off a three-point weekend (2 G, 1 A) and was later named Play of the Week by the NA3HL.

BE A BUDDY: The Jr. Blues’ annual Brendan’s Buddies game, presented by Sindel Noble Attorneys, is coming up on March 1 against Wisconsin at 7 pm. Read all about Brendan and his cause here.

SCOUTING THE POWER: Following their hot start, Milwaukee has slipped five points adrift of St. Louis in 2ndplace and entering this weekend sits just three points ahead of a rapidly rising Coulee Region squad. With top scorer Jake Berry now with Bismarck in the NAHL, Milwaukee is looking for forwards Logan Geisness (20 G, 27 A) and Maris Graudins (24 G, 18 A) to pick up some of the slack.

SCOUTING THE WHALERS: Wisconsin is still lurking at the fringe of the playoff race, in fifth place 12 points adrift of Peoria but with a whopping six games in hand on the Mustangs. Future St. Mary’s University forward Sam Hanson has been one of the league’s most dangerous players, averaging well over two points per game (20 G, 39 A in 26 GP). Caleb Sauer has been an excellent addition for the Whalers in goal, with an 8-4 record including big wins over Milwaukee and Coulee Region.
