A QUICK RECAP: St. Louis swept Wausau 12-3 and 7-1 in their penultimate home series of the 2018-19 regular season. Standout performers on the weekend included Ivan Galaguzov (3 G, 4 A),  Will Baginski (2 G, 2 A) and Jack Regan (24 saves on Sunday).

BE A BUDDY: The Jr. Blues’ annual Brendan’s Buddies game, presented by Sindel Noble Attorneys, is coming up on March 1 against Wisconsin at 7 pm. Read all about Brendan and his cause here.

WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME: The Jr. Blues would like to congratulate Jake Faulkner, Mason Kruger, Ivan Galaguzov, Sean Hofstetter, Mikael Foucher, head coach Chris Flaugher, and broadcaster Kevin Gier on being picked to represent the Jr. Blues at the 2019 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament in Attleboro, Massachusetts outside Boston. I PLAY FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA: Last week, you saw in this space that Zach Mitchell had been capped by Team USA for the 2019 Winter World University Games: now, read about the two other Jr. Blues alumni joining him on the plane to Russia.

SCOUTING THE CHILL: Coulee Region enters the weekend having won their last eight games, taking advantage of a heavily back-loaded schedule to catapult themselves into second place in the Central Division. Their top line of Brady Lindauer (49 G, 61 A, leads the league in scoring), Tom Magnavite (45 G, 43 A, 4thon the NA3HL points log) and Matt Janke (28 G, 42 A) is undoubtedly one of the NA3HL’s best: Magnavite and Lindauer both have committed to join Jr. Blues alumni Kyle Meeh and Jack Hatton at St. Mary’s next season. Goaltending has been solid if not spectacular, with Devin Naidow posting a 13-5-1 record with a 2.50 GAA and a .914 save percentage. These two teams played the St. Louis half of the season series back in November: the Jr. Blues took two out of three that weekend.
