VENUE: Affton Ice Rink, Affton, Mo.
GAME TIMES: February 3 at 4 pm, February 4 at 1 pm (all times Central)
WHERE TO FOLLOW: All Jr. Blues home games are streamed live and in high definition on HockeyTV.com (subscription required). On Twitter, follow @JrBluesGameday for live updates.
A QUICK RECAP: The Jr. Blues were unlucky to come away empty-handed from their trip to Minnesota, losing both games to the Granite City Lumberjacks by scores of 3-1 and 3-2.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: The Jr. Blues’ final two charity weekends are both coming up soon: February 23 against Rochester benefiting The Frozen Cup/#ShutOutAutism and March 10 versus Wisconsin supporting Brendan’s Buddies. Both fixtures will feature silent auctions, specialty jerseys that will be sold during and after the game, and much more fun for the entire family.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: Defending South Division playoff champions Atlanta are finding the going a bit tougher this season, as they lie second in the South, 12 points behind leaders Texas. Thirty-goal scorer Brody Nielsen is the team’s top offensive threat (he has also added 15 assists), but he’s not the only one with 40 or more points, as the team’s top four scorers have all cracked that milestone.
JUNIOR NOTES: With the addition of Atlanta to the Jr. Blues schedule, this means that they will have played all three of their Fraser Cup Finals group-stage opponents this year: St. Louis won their previous meeting 4-2.
