ST. LOUIS FORWARD MARSHALL MAKES COLLEGE HOCKEY CHOICE

May 3, 2018

The St. Louis Jr. Blues, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that forward Dawson Marshall has committed to play college hockey at the University of Arizona. The Wildcats play ACHA Division I hockey in the WCHL.

In his first year in junior hockey after a successful spell with Team Illinois in the AAA HPHL, the 5’11”, 175-lb native of St. Charles, Ill. was a valuable contributor to the Jr. Blues’ run to the Fraser Cup Finals. Playing in 43 regular-season games, Marshall scored 10 goals and added 12 assists, finishing the year with a plus-minus rating of +20. He also suited up for all seven playoff games the Jr. Blues took part in, recording one assist in the playoffs

“Dawson’s a smart, versatile forward who provided us with a lot of depth and options this year,” said Jr. Blues head coach Chris Flaugher. “He’s a good distributor of the puck, excellent at face-offs, and can be counted on when we need a guy to put their hand up and show some energy. Arizona’s a great school and a great place for him to continue his hockey career, and we wish him nothing but the best in the future.”

Marshall becomes the fifth Jr. Blues player this year to make a college commitment, and the third to choose to play at U of A, joining defensemen Ben Jones and Matt Hohl. Joining them in Tucson will also be Dawson’s brother (and fellow Jr. Blues alum) Bayley, who is transferring there from the University of Central Oklahoma.
