The St. Louis Jr. Blues took home the win against the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks, 5-2.
St. Louis stifled Cleveland\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Lumberjacks were unable to stop the Jr. Blues from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Louis eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.
The Jr. Blues were helped by Steven Farina, who finished with one goal. Farina scored 1:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Louis. maxwell cobb assisted on the tally. St. Louis additionally got points from Kyle Meeh, who also registered one goal and one assist and Mike Lozano, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. St. Louis also got a goal from Andrew McGlynn as well. More assists for St. Louis came via Tommy Heinzman, who had two and Billy Hindle, Adam Roeder, Zane OBryan, Alexander Carlsson, and Simon Koscielski, who contributed one a piece.
Cleveland forced St. Louis goalie Hindle to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.
The Jr. Lumberjacks were helped by Jared Johnson, who registered one goal. Johnson scored 10:51 into the third period to make the score 4-2 St. Louis. Stefan Horgas picked up the assist. Matt Wipper also scored for Cleveland. In addition, Cleveland received assists from Joseph Moza and Tyler Stockwell, who each chipped in one.
The Jr. Blues\’ Hindle stopped 29 shots out of the 31 that he faced. St. Louis incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Moza recorded 28 saves for Cleveland. The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
