ST. LOUIS’ BOCCARDI GETS NAHL CALL-UP

Nov 5, 2019

The St. Louis Jr. Blues, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that defenseman Joey Boccardi has been promoted to the NAHL’s Springfield Jr. Blues as an affiliate player. Springfield plays in the Midwest Division of the NAHL; Boccardi will be joining the club for their two-week trip to Alaska.

In his second season with the Jr. Blues, the 6’, 175 lb native of St. Louis, MO has made a big impact from the blue-line. In 14 games, Boccardi has scored five goals and nine assists, with two of those goals coming on the power-play. He is also tied for the team lead in plus/minus rating with a +15.

“Joey’s really come into his own this season as a defenseman,” said Jr. Blues head coach Chris Flaugher. “He’s been playing with a lot of confidence and go-forward thus far, and this is a great opportunity to show that he’s a player who can succeed at that higher level.”

Boccardi becomes the second St. Louis player to make the drive up Interstate 55 to join the NAHL Jr. Blues, as forward Seamus Campbell was also promoted to Springfield as an affiliate player last weekend. In addition, forwards Evan Ross and Joey Solimando will be skating with the Janesville Jets this week, while goaltender Will Oliver skated with Springfield last week.
