Peoria downs St. Louis, 4-1

Andrew Scofield finished with one point to lead the Peoria Mustangs to a 4-1 victory over the St. Louis Jr. Blues.

St. Louis was unable to stop Peoria from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mustangs eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.

Levi Armstrong also scored for Peoria. More assists for Peoria came via Chance Homerin, who had two and Tyler Shures, Kai Barber, Clayton Layne, Andrej Buchko, Nathan Marlow, and Matt McPherson, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Blues were held below their usual level of production. St. Louis puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

The Jr. Blues were led by Franky Melton, who scored the team\’s only goal. Melton scored on the power play 3:09 into the second period to make the score 1-1. St. Louis had taken the advantage when Peoria\’s Marlow got sent off for hooking. Zane OBryan provided the assist.

Marc Hayton made 24 saves for the Mustangs on 25 shots. Peoria incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. William Hindle rejected 47 shots on goal for the Jr. Blues. St. Louis incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
