St. Louis forward Ryan McGrath has signed a tender to play for the Texas Tornado in the North American Hockey League next season. In 103 career CSHL games, McGrath scored 60 goals and 74 assists for 134 points. Head Coach Jack Behan said, \”Ryan McGrath has been the best player on the ice in so many of our games this year.\”
McGrath has had to battle the bias against his size, at 5\’6\” and 150 lbs. for years. But Behan continued, \”Ryan might not be the biggest on the ice, but he certainly has the biggest heart. He can do it all. Great vision, outstanding hands, great scorer and one of the best at finishishing his checks. He\’s the total package.\”
And, like another Jr. Blues alumni Ryan Kretzer (Springfield NAHL, Lincoln USHL, Nebraska-Omaha NCAA DI), he has succeeded at every level he has played. Behan doesn\’t think that will change next season. \”He will be an impact for the Tornado next year I am quite confident. He led our team in scoring at the Nationals and was a huge reason for our National Championship.\” Behan continued, \”I am very proud of Ryan and his tremendous development and wish him great success at the next level.\”
