MASON KRUGER NAMED 2019-20 JR. BLUES CAPTAIN

Aug 6, 2019

The St. Louis Jr. Blues, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that defenseman Mason Kruger has been appointed club captain for the 2019-20 season. Kruger will be the 31st captain in Jr. Blues history and the first blue-liner to wear the “C” since Chris Brown in 2014-15.

A native of Alpharetta, Ga., Kruger made a big impact in his debut junior season, scoring three goals and 21 assists in 29 games. The left-shot finished the season on a +24 plus-minus rating, and was named to the Central Division team for the 2019 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament.

“Mason’s a versatile guy who’s comfortable wherever he’s put on the ice,” said Jr. Blues head coach Chris Flaugher. “More importantly, though, he’s a great teammate who leads by example on and off the ice and knows what it takes to succeed. Mason knows this is his final year of junior eligibility and is really wanting to make it count: he’s been training hard all summer and preparing mentally for this role as well. We’re excited to have him back for the 2019-20 season and proud to name him as our captain.”
