The Springfield Jr. Blues have called defenseman Kyle Meeh up to play this weekend. Meeh currently ranks 2nd in team scoring with 4 goals and 14 assists in 18 games. Jr. Blues Head Coach Chris Flaugher said, "Kyle picked up where he left off last season. We didn't expect to get him back this year and he was disappointed that he didn't end up at that level (Tier II) this year, but he has worked hard to get this opportunity and expect him to take full advantage of it."
The Jr. Blues are headed to Chicago to play in the 4 game showcase this weekend and will be without Meeh's presence on the blue line for the first 2 games. Flaugher continued, "This season has been a roller coaster for us. There have been some injuries that we have had to struggle with, but getting players these types of opportunities is is why we do this. To help players move up to the next level, whatever that is for them. There was no doubt that Kyle will be missed, but he has earned this opportunity and we would never deny him of that in order to try and win games."
Meeh will be in Sprinfield on Friday and Saturday before going to Chicago to finish the last two games of the Showcase with St. Louis.
