Continuing our series where we introduce you to the 2016-17 Jr. Blues squad, this afternoon we meet with the man between the pipes: returning goalie Zach Young.
LAST SEASON: In his first year of junior hockey, Young went 21-5-3 in the regular season, with a 2.56 goals-against average, a save percentage of .911 and five shutouts. The native of Robertsville, MO was tapped to play goal for the U18 Red Selects team at Top Prospects (where he went 2-0 with a 3.35 GAA) and spent several weekends with the NAHL’s Springfield Jr. Blues as an emergency goaltender. In the playoffs, Young made appearances in three games.
