Beginning a new series to introduce our new players and re-introduce our veterans to our fans, we here at STLJrBlues.org are proud to present our newest feature: Know Your Jr. Blues. Every day leading up to the home opener against Cincinnati on September 10 (face-off at 7 pm, with a season kickoff tailgate party beginning 2 hours before puck drop in the Affton Ice Rink parking lot), we’ll let you learn a little more about the young men that make up the Jr. Blues.
Today, we lead it off with a returning veteran of whom quite a bit is expected: forward Tomas Loeffelman.
LAST YEAR: The native of Oakville, MO and longtime Affton Americans standout joined the Jr. Blues last year after playing in Richmond, VA for the previous season. “Snakes” announced his presence by tying for the team lead in scoring (24G+32A=56P), adding a further eight points in the post-season (5G, 3A), and was named to the U18 Red team at Top Prospects.

Do you have any unique pre-game routines or superstitions? I always eat a Snickers bar after I put on my skates, and have a very specific way of taping and waxing my stick.
Why did you choose the Jr. Blues? I grew up at Affton Ice Rink and always saw the best hockey players play here. I’ve always wanted to play for them.
