Former St. Louis Jr. Blues forward/defenseman Kerry McGlynn is finding success and opportunity north of the border in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. McGlynn, a 1993 birth year, had an outstanding September with the Steinbach Pistons, notching two goals and four assists in 7 games, helping the Pistons to a 6-1 record over that time. McGlynn was a top player on the 2012-13 Jr. Blues scoring 29 points in 47 games as an Alternate Captain. McGlynn spent the 2011-12 season with the Jr. Blues as a forward, but when defense became an issue last season, McGlynn willingly stepped up to fill a much needed role. After being overlooked at Tier II this off-season, McGlynn decided to try his luck in Canada, where he is thriving. McGlynn hopes that this year of Tier II Canadian hockey will land him at a university next year.
