BLUES HOME OPENER: The Jr. Blues open their 2021-22 home schedule at Affton with a two-game series vs. the Cyclones this weekend. The team opened its season with a trip to Milwaukee Sept. 10-11. The team scored six goals but fell in both contests by finals of 5-2 and 7-4. Gianluca Boccardi picked up three points in the series vs. the Power. The contests at Affton will mark the home debut of Brian McGlynn, who assumed head coaching duties following the retirement of Chris Flaugher this offseason. McGlynn is assisted by Matt Ocello and Reed Low. 

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS: Wausau returns six players from last year’s squad (Wausau RiverWolves). The team has added former St. Louis Jr. Blues defenseman Derek Cagle. This weekend’s contests mark the beginning of a six-game road trip for the Cyclones, who are coached by Colin Bailey. The Cyclones open their home schedule Oct. 15 vs. St. Louis..
