SEASON OPENER: The team opened its season with a trip to Milwaukee Sept. 10-11. The team scored six goals but fell in both contests by finals of 5-2 and 7-4 in Milwaukee. Gianluca Boccardi picked up three points in the series vs. the Power. The Jr. Blues opened their 2021-22 home schedule at Affton with a two-game series vs. the Wausau Cyclones last weekend. The contests at Affton marked the home debut of Brian McGlynn, who assumed head coaching duties following the retirement of Chris Flaugher this offseason. McGlynn is assisted by Matt Ocello and Reed Low. The Cyclones took both games by finals of 4-1 and 6-0.
SCOUTING THE TRADESMEN: Oregon fell in its first two contests of the season 5-1 and 5-2 vs. the Rochester Grizzlies September 17-18. The Tradesmen rebounded September 24-25 with 4-2 and 2-1 wins over Peoria. Riley VanderHoeven paces the team with five points (one goal, four assists). Sam VanderHoeven is second on the team with four points (three goals, one assist). The Tradesmen are coached by Eric Fenton, who is in his first year with the team.
