JR. BLUES GO ENTIRE WEEKEND WITHOUT CONCEDING

Sep 16, 2018

The St. Louis Jr. Blues finished off their opening road trip with their third shutout in three games as they battered the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts by the score of 11-0.

Mason Kruger (Alpharetta, Ga.), a new addition to the team this weekend, scored not just his first goal in junior hockey but also his first hat-trick as he paced the team from the defensive line. Joey Boccardi (St. Louis, Mo.) became the latest Jr. Blues rookie to open his scoring account, while Dante Jones (Toronto, Ont., Canada) scored for his third consecutive game and Matt Monreal (Wauwatosa, Wisc.) added two more. Ty Barnhill (Milwaukee, Wisc.), making his junior hockey debut, posted a 14-save shutout.

Next on the schedule for the Jr. Blues is their longest road trip of the year, a 623-mile jaunt to Sauk Rapids, Minn. to take on the Granite City Lumberjacks. The two sides will renew their rivalry on Friday night at 7:30 pm.
