Jr. Blues Drop Two to the Division Leader Wausau Cyclones
Saturday, October 19 – Wausau 4 @ St. Louis 1 – The first period of the game remained scoreless. Jake Garrow assisted by Connor Dvorak put a goal on the board for the Cyclones in the second. Mason Andrew snuck a goal at the end of the second with help from Kelly Coldwater and Mason Wright to tie up the game for the Jr. Blues. A goal early in the third made by Truman Zerse with assists from Eiji Hofmann and Owen Gohm gave the Cyclones the lead. Garrow scored another goal assisted by Jack Dawley and Brady Knutsen. Garrow got the hat trick in the third with one more goal assisted by Knutsen. Dereck Namlick had 31 saves for the Wausau Cyclones and Travis Visvadra had 33 saves for the St. Louis Jr. Blues.
Friday, October 18 – Wausau 5 @ St. Louis 3 – St. Louis was singing the Blues as the lost 5-3 to the Wausau Cyclones on Friday night. The high scoring affair featured three lead changes, goals by eight different players, and very few penalty minutes. Early into the second, the Blues were winning 3-1, but the Jr. Blues were unable to stop the crescendo of the Wausau Cyclones, who scored four unanswered goals in their comeback victory, The night was busy for both goaltenders, especially St Louis goaltender Brooks Barofsky, who made 44 stops on 49 shots on the evening. Wausau goaltender Tanner Bonjemoor had an easier night, only needing to collect 20 saves on 23 shots to secure the victory.
