JR. BLUES CLIP ‘BOLTS WINGS WITH SHUTOUT

Sep 15, 2018

The St. Louis Jr. Blues weren’t quite able to match their gaudy goal total from Friday night, but once again came away with the two points as they took down the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts 6-0 on Saturday evening.

The game was scoreless until the 9:02 mark of the 1st period, when Brendan Biffignani (Fenton, Mo.) found the back of the net, assisted by Jordan Crow (Edwardsville, Ill.) and Stepan Ruta (Hradec Kralove, Czechia). CJ Jensen (Brandon, Fla.) made it 2-0 at 17:01 with his first goal in Jr. Blues colors, and from then on it was smooth sailing for the visitors: Sean Hofstetter (Columbia, Ill.) picked up his second tally of the weekend, Crow scored his first and second goals in his junior career, and Dante Jones (Toronto, Ont., Canada) potted his second marker in as many games. Matt Griffin (Glen Carbon, Ill.) got his first shutout in as many junior starts, as the Jr. Blues outshot Evansville by an eye-popping margin of 102-14.

St. Louis will look to close out the weekend with a sweep tomorrow afternoon at 12:30 pm.
