The St. Louis Jr. Blues, proud members of the NA3HL, are extremely pleased to announce that forward Seamus Campbell has been named to the final NHL Central Scouting rankings ahead of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Campbell slots in as a later-round prospect amongst North American skaters: he is the only NA3HL player to make the list.
This ranking caps off the debut junior season for the 6’, 155 lb forward from Kirkwood, Mo. Playing in all 47 games this year for the Jr. Blues, he scored 15 goals and collected 16 assists. He was called up by the NAHL’s Springfield Jr. Blues in October and scored a goal on debut and was also the first NA3HL player to be invited to join the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, where he skated with the NAHL Blue Selects and picked up one assist. Campbell also became the first NA3HL player since 2016 to commit to a NCAA Division I program when he verbally pledged to skate at Quinnipiac of the ECAC, and signed a NAHL tender for the 2020-21 season with the defending Robertson Cup champion Aberdeen Wings.
“We’re extremely proud with the way Seamus has developed this year,” said Jr. Blues head coach Chris Flaugher. “He’s a great skater with a lot of length and a tremendous upside. We hope to hear his name called whenever the draft takes place and are proud to say that we helped develop Seamus into an NHL Draft-caliber prospect.”
The 2020 NHL Draft, originally scheduled for June 26-27 at Centre Bell in Montreal, was postponed indefinitely by the league as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The league has not yet announced a replacement date, location, or format, as they continue to monitor the situation and consult with public authorities.
