St. Louis goaltender Josh Hillegas has signed a tender to play for the Texas Tornado of the NAHL next season. Hillegas led the league in wins (25), GAA (1.68), and SV% (.936) in the regular season. Overall he finished with a 32-4-0-7 line with a 1.90 GAA and a .931 SV% in the CSHL. In the USA Tier III Jr. A Nationals, he went 3-1 with two coming in the semi-final and Championship games. Jr. Blues Head Coach Jack Behan says, \”Josh had a terrific season for us culminating with an outstanding National tournament.\”
However, Texas has an idea what they are getting. According to Behan, \”Earlier this winter Josh spent a week in Texas practicing with the Tornado and liked the situation.\” After their run at the USA Hockey Nationals, Hillegas sealed the deal. \”The Tender offer came after Nationals and I think this will be a great fit for Josh. Josh is such a quiet competitor. He was so confident in the tough situations at the Hurster Cup and Nationals. I can\’t say enough about his composure and competitiveness. Texas got themselves a heck of a goalie and a heck of a kid. I wish him continued success in his career. \”
