Edgar's and Balestra's big nights helped the Jr. Blues crush the Thunder 8-2

Ryan Edgar and Nick Balestra had big nights with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) and 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) respectively as the St. Louis Jr. Blues crushed the Cincinnati Thunder 8-2 in a home game at South Metro Sports in St. Louis. In addition, the St. Louis Jr. Blues' offense had a big night, peppering Cincinnati with 40 shots throughout the game. The St. Louis Jr. Blues took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Max Kamper and never looked back.

Joe Nolan contributed with 2 goals and Samuel Maddox chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first period, Nolan opened the scoring for the Jr. Blues with a goal at 8:22 with helpers from teammates Edgar and Balestra. Nolan netted a goal at 12:38 with assists from Ovchinnikov and Galaguzov. Kamper deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 14:41 with helpers from his linemates, Papa and Seger. Yurisich scored a goal at 19:03 with assists from Papa and Seger.

During the second, Edgar put in a goal at 5:48 with a helper from Balestra. Simon finally put the Thunder on the board with a goal at 17:54 with an assist from See.

In the third, Robinson answered for St. Louis with a goal at 3:02 with a helper from fellow Jr. Blues forward Werdmuller. Maddox quickly followed with a goal at 4:46 with assists from his linemates, Edgar and Balestra. Balestra deposited a goal at 9:39 with helpers from his linemates, Edgar and Maddox. Veneklase answered for the Thunder with a goal at 18:17 with assists from Marlow and Schober.

St. Louis’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Smith as he stopped 14 of the 16 shots he faced. Smith’s counterpart, Geloneck, also had a big night, managing to stop 12 of 16, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the St. Louis Jr. Blues’ record to (40-9-0-2)
