Dunaway’s big game bests Point Mallard in 5-2 St. Louis win

Behind a great game by Daniel Dunaway, who had two goals and one assist, St. Louis defeated Point Mallard, 5-2.

Dunaway scored at 2:08 into the third period to make the score 3-2 St. Louis and again while 7:55 into the third to make the score 4-3 St. Louis.

St. Louis forced Point Mallard\’s netminders to work between the pipes, firing 35 shots and forcing 30 saves. Cooper Seedott made 29 stops and Josh Martin made one.

Others who scored for St. Louis included Frankie Melton, Ezekiel Estrada, and Alex Klaesner, who scored one goal each. More assists for St. Louis came via Sam Maddox, who had two and Brian Schumacher, Tomas Loeffelman, and Joe Nolan, who each chipped in one.

Point Mallard\’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Louis power plays. Point Mallard did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Point Mallard averages 4.3 goals per game. Point Mallard\’s offense rang up 36 shots on St. Louis\’ net.

Point Mallard was led by Jaleel Rosemond, who registered one goal. Rosemond scored 3:26 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Austin Weber assisted on the tally. Point Mallard also had goals scored by Stephen Coulter and Cody Thomas, who each put in one. In addition, Point Mallard received assists from Joe Bresingham, Josh Hamilton, and Justin Delisle, who contributed one each.

Zach Young recorded 34 saves for St. Louis. St. Louis incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For St. Louis, Melton was ejected from the game. Point Mallard incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
