Former St. Louis Jr. Blues forward Brandon Bollig can lay claim to the fact that he is the first St. Louis-born player to have his name etched on the hardest trophy to win in pro sports, the Stanley Cup. Bollig grew up in St. Charles, Missouri where he started playing in the St. Peter's organization before moving to the St. Louis Amateur Blues AAA, Affton Americans CSDHL and St. Louis Jr. Blues of the then CSHL. After playing for the Jr. Blues, Bollig spent 3 seasons playing for the Lincoln Stars of the USHL 2 seasons at St. Lawrence University before signing his first pro contract. He was assigned to Rockford of the AHL and spent parts of the next three seasons between the AHL and NHL capping this season with a Stanley Cup win. Bollig said about his Stanley Cup play, ""Sitting out a good stretch of games there in the playoffs is never easy, but it kind of comes with the territory of my role," Bollig said, "and I couldn't be more excited to get going. It's kind of something you dream of as a kid to play in the Stanley Cup final and I'm pretty pumped to live that dream."
