Former St. Louis Jr. Blues stand-out forward Kyle O'Kane has joined the coaching staff effective immediately. After playing two seasons with the Jr. Blues and winning two National Championships, O'Kane moved on to the Springfield Jr. Blues of the NAHL. He then started 2006-07 season with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL before returning to finish in St. Louis with the Bandits of the NAHL winning two Tier II National Championships. In 2008-09, O'Kane began his freshman year at the University of Western Michigan playing over 120 games in his four years there. After graduating last year, Kyle hoped to move on to play professionally in Stockton of the ECHL, the trickle down of the NHL lockout pushed him out of his spot. O'Kane's duties will include video analysis and on-ice coaching for the Jr. Blues. Head Coach JP Beilsten said, "Having a player of Kyle's ability is a huge benefit to the program. He has a ton of playing experience at a high level and an eye for systems and breakdowns when analyzing video. We couldn't be happier to have him on the staff."
