We have several players that could have been there, but they have already made college plans for next season." There is a varied group of players trying to reach different goals for next season. Selected for the team are:
Goaltender, Billy Hindle leads the league in Save Percentage at .928. Billy is hoping to move up to a Tier II or Tier I team for next season.
Forward, Tommy Heinzman is tied for the team lead in scoring with 41 points in 38 games. Tommy will be considering different college options in 2014-15.
Forward, Zane O'Bryan is one of the youngest players in the league as a 1997 birth-year. As a rookie he has notched 33 points in 37 games and will be looking for Tier II or Tier I options for next season with the hope of moving to collegiate hockey in the next couple of years.
Forward, Andy McGlynn is another young 1997 birth-year player, one of 5 on the Jr. Blues this season. McGlynn is also having an outstanding rookie season, scoring 30 points in 29 games. Although he recently tendered with the Springfield Jr. Blues, Andy hopes to showcase his game to Tier I and college coaches.
Flaugher, who will serve as an assistant coach on the staff, is excited about the tournament. He said, "This is a great opportunity for players to be seen. Even more, the players that are in the tournament will, hopefully, attract scouts to more games, allowing more players to be showcased as the year goes on."
