Three former Jr. Blues are in Helsinki, Finland for the 77th Annual IIHF World Champions. Cal Heeter, a goaltender in the Philadelpha organization (Adirondack AHL/Ohio State/St. Louis NAHL) was named to the team along with defenseman Chris Butler (Calgary NHL/University of Denver/Sioux City USHL) and Paul Stastny (Colorado NHL/University of Denver/Omaha USHL). Joining them is another St. Louisan, Ben Bishop (Tampa Bay NHL/University of Maine/Texas NAHL) also in goal.
Yesterday, USA Hockey named Stastny as the team captain for the tournament. First up for Team USA is Austria tomorrow morning.
