The Jr. Blues shutout the Mustangs 3-0

The St. Louis Jr. Blues' offense had a big night, peppering the Peoria Mustangs with 31 shots throughout the game, to go along with Blake Bjella's shutout. The St. Louis Jr. Blues took the lead late in the first on a goal from John Shively and never looked back.

John Shively chipped in with 2 goals.

In the first, Shively opened the scoring for St. Louis with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:56.

During the second period, Papa deposited a goal at 7:54 with helpers from his teammates Capkovic and Dunaway. Shively netted a goal at 13:24 with assists from Cox and Hatton.

The Jr. Blues’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Bjella’s shutout, as he stopped all 13 of the shots he faced. Bjella’s counterpart, Gardner, also had a big night, managing to stop 28 of 31, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the St. Louis Jr. Blues’ record to (1-0-0-0).
