Hatton's hat trick helped the Jr. Blues crush the Whalers 5-2

Jack Hatton led the way with a hat trick as the St. Louis Jr. Blues crushed the Wisconsin Whalers 5-2 in a home game at Affton Ice Rink in St. Louis. As well, the St. Louis Jr. Blues' offense had a big night, peppering Wisconsin with 33 shots throughout the game. The St. Louis Jr. Blues took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Jack Hatton.

Dante Jones delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Ivan Galaguzov had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 assists.

During the first period, Hefty opened the scoring for the Whalers with a goal at 11:36. Hatton quickly followed with a goal at 12:42 with helpers from his linemates, Galaguzov and Cox.

In the second, Jones netted a goal at 2:29 with a helper from his teammate Winter. Tobey answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 6:03 with assists from his linemates, Ether and Cross. Hatton answered for St. Louis with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 9:21 with an assist from fellow Jr. Blues forward Galaguzov.

In the third period, Jones put in a goal at 8:37 with helpers from Jones and Monreal. Hatton netted a goal at 14:41 with a helper from Cox.

St. Louis’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Smith as he stopped 14 of the 16 shots he faced. Smith’s counterpart, Earls, also had a big night, managing to stop 28 of 33, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the St. Louis Jr. Blues’ record to (37-9-0-0).
