FORMER JR. BLUES DEFENSEMAN MAKES COLLEGE COMMITMENT

Aug 16, 2017

The St. Louis Jr. Blues, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that defenseman Grant Denton has committed to play college hockey at Trine University. The Thunder, from Angola, Ind., will field teams at both the NCAA Division III and ACHA Division II level next season out of a new, on-campus facility.

A 6’6” native of Spring Arbor, Mich., Denton arrived in St. Louis in January of 2017, following stints at Glacier and Long Beach. In 11 games with the Jr. Blues, Denton recorded five assists and a +17 rating, adding this to his two goals and three assists accumulated at his other clubs.

Denton is just the latest NA3HL alum to commit to Trine, joining fellow Jr. Blue Brandon Bornkamp as well as Hayden Winch (Metro), Carmine Taffo (Long Beach), and Nolan Arbuckle (New England) amongst others.

“Getting a big, physical defenseman like Grant was a crucial piece of the puzzle in our Silver Cup run this year,” said Jr. Blues head coach Chris Flaugher. “We wish him all the best of luck up at Trine.”
