The Jr. Blues shutout the Thunder 5-0

Ivan Galaguzov had a big night with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) as the St. Louis Jr. Blues crushed the Cincinnati Thunder 5-0 in a home game at Affton Ice Rink in St. Louis. Also, the St. Louis Jr. Blues' offense had a big night, peppering Cincinnati with 51 shots throughout the game, to go along with Sawyer Schmidt's shutout. The St. Louis Jr. Blues took the lead early in the first on a goal from Nick Balestra and never looked back.

Zach Mitchell chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Daniil Ovchinnikov contributed with 3 assists.

In the first, Balestra opened the scoring for the Jr. Blues with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 2:38 with helpers from his linemates, Edgar and Werdmuller. Froese netted a goal at 5:25 with helpers from Ovchinnikov and Galaguzov. Mitchell scored a goal at 14:43 with assists from his linemates, Maddox and Galaguzov.

During the second, Galaguzov put in a goal at 1:39 with assists from his linemates, Mitchell and Ovchinnikov. Galaguzov netted a goal at 16:36 with helpers from his linemates, Hatton and Ovchinnikov.

The Jr. Blues’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Schmidt’s shutout, as he stopped all 21 of the shots he faced. Schmidt’s counterpart, Kostelnik, also had a big night, managing to stop 46 of 51, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the St. Louis Jr. Blues’ record to (38-9-0-2)
