The Jr. Blues shutout the Jr. Thunderbolts 8-0

Bud Winter, Dylan Carroll and Dante Jones had big nights with 4 points (4 goals, 0 assists), 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) and 5 points (0 goals, 5 assists) respectively as the St. Louis Jr. Blues crushed the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts 8-0 in a home game at Affton Ice Rink in St. Louis. Besides, the St. Louis Jr. Blues' offense had a big night, peppering Evansville with 63 shots throughout the game, to go along with Hunter Smith's shutout. The St. Louis Jr. Blues took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Daniel Dunaway and never looked back.

Matthew Monreal did his part, adding 2 assists.

During the first period, Dunaway opened the scoring for the Jr. Blues with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:01 with helpers from Mcatee and Jones.

In the second, Winter put in a goal at 5:26 with an assist from his teammate Jones. Winter netted a goal at 14:06 with a helper from his linemate Monreal. Winter scored a goal at 19:46 with assists from his linemates, Jones and Carroll.

In the third period, Marshall put in a goal at 3:19 with helpers from his linemates, Jones and Carroll. Carroll netted a goal at 7:00 with assists from Jones and Jones. Carroll scored a goal at 14:37. Winter deposited a goal at 18:50 with helpers from his linemates, Cox and Monreal.

St. Louis’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Smith’s shutout, as he stopped all 13 of the shots he faced. Smith’s counterpart, Linenburg, also had a big night, managing to stop 55 of 63, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the St. Louis Jr. Blues’ record to (36-9-0-0).
