ST. LOUIS’ WINTER SIGNS NAHL TENDER, JOINS CLUB FOR PLAYOFFS

Apr 2, 2018

The St. Louis Jr. Blues, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that forward Bud Winterhas signed a tender agreement with the Corpus Christi IceRays of the NAHL. Winter has also been added to the IceRays roster for their final regular-season series this weekend against Lone Star and for the playoffs: Corpus Christi is drawn against the Shreveport Mudbugs in the South Division semi-finals.

A 6’2”, 209 lb right-hander from Sunset Hills, Mo., Winter began this season with Corpus Christi. He returned back home to St. Louis, and made the most of his tenure with the Jr. Blues: in 11 regular-season games, Winter potted 12 goals and added five assists. It was in the playoffs, though, where he made his biggest impact: he recorded three points (2 G, 1 A) in the Midwest Division finals against Peoria, and at the Fraser Cup he scored three goals and two assists, including a goal in the final against the Metro Jets, and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

“When Bud joined our team he made an instant impact,” said Jr. Blues head coach Chris Flaugher. “He provided a ton of added size and speed, is a great offensive player as his numbers show, and was a rock-steady presence in the dressing room. We’re pleased to see him sign a tender at Corpus, and hope he can continue his great playoff form for the IceRays.”
