set up all alone by the Blackwood feed made no
mistake making Jr. Blues history scoring his sixth goal of the

Jr. Blues Blow Another One in a Heartbreaker!
In what has become a reoccurring theme, late third period
goals have killed the Jr. Blues. J.P. Burkemper
gave the Jr. Blues the lead converting a rebound early in
the first period. Nick Garlik and Jack
Berger assisted. The Quad City Jr. Flames
scored 2 goals to make it 2-1 after one period. With the
Jr. Blues on a 5 on 3 power play, the first penalty expired and
the Jr. Blues defense didn't cover as the Flames player scored
on a breakaway. Moments later the Jr. Flames scored a
power play goal padding their lead to 4-1. J. P.
Burkemper then scored his second goal of the game making
it 4-2 with Andrew Clark and Jack Berger
assisting. Quad City came right back to take a 5-2
lead but Chris Hutton cut the lead to 5-3 with CJ
Jung and Sam Davis assisting. The
third period was wild with the Flames taking the lead 6-3 early.
David Ulm redirected a Sam Davis
shot to cut it to 6-4. Jack Berger then made
it close scoring his first CSHL goal with Mike Daniels
recording his first CSHL assist. Nick Garlik
seemed to be the hero as he tied the score with 2:21 remaining
streaking down the right side scoring on a quick shot. CJ
Jung and Grant Boyd assisted. But
with just 26 seconds remaining, the Jr. Flames won a
face-off in the Jr. Blues end and a missed assignment cost
the Jr. Blues as the Jr. Flames center converted the rebound.

put the Jr. Blues in 10th place in the CSHL.

|
|
Phil Blackwood gave the Jr. Blues a second period lead
with a great shot.

Jay Roux gave the Jr. Blues a two goal lead on a
breakaway goal in the second period.
|
Jr. Blues Lose Controversial Game To Dubuque
With the Jr. Blue playing the first place Dubuque Thunderbirds
well, the Thunderbirds scored first. But Sam Davis
tied the score as he intercepted a clearing pass and wristed a
quick shot past the goaltender. The second period was very
exciting with back and forth play. Phil Blackwood
completed a picture perfect 3 on 2 break with a snipe from the
slot. Chris Hutton and CJ Jung
assisted on the goal. With the Jr. Blues making a quick
neutral zone transition, Jay Roux went in all
alone and made a perfect move to give St. Louis a 3-1 lead.
Ryan Devine and Justin Roux assisted
on the goal. With the Jr. Blue killing their second 2 man
disadvantage the Thunderbirds scored to cut the lead. The
Thunderbirds seemingly tied the score but the officials ruled it
was knocked in with a high stick. Then, with the Jr. Blues
having a delayed penalty, the Thunderbirds scored a
controversial goal in which the officials ruled they had not hit
in with his hand. With the game tied 3-3 in the third
period, both teams had opportunities. It was the
Thunderbirds third 2 man advantage that broke the backs of the
visiting Jr. Blues with 2 minutes to play. The
Thunderbirds scored after an apparent no call on a check from
behind to add further controversy to the game. Dubuque
then scored an empty net goal in the last 4 seconds.
