League vs. Chicago Force

Kyle O'Kane's two goals tie the Force.

Jr. Blues Battle Chicago Force to a 2-2 Tie

The Jr. Blues showed no signs of rust after a two week layoff in the early going.  The first period was a complete domination of the Force as the Jr. Blues outshot Chicago 22-9 in the period.  Fantastic goaltending by Chicago kept the game scoreless through one period.

In the second period, Zach Barron feathered a perfect goal mouth pass to Kyle O'Kane on a two on one break.  O'Kane made no mistake as the Jr. Blues took the lead.  The Force tied the score quickly though and the game headed into the third period tied 1-1.  The Force took the lead early in the period.  With the Force defense holding strong, it appeared if the Jr. Blues were running out of time.  But an incredible shift by the O'Kane, Barron, Effinger line made the difference.  The three forwards battled deep in the Chicago zone relentlessly.  With Cory Spradling replacing Barron on the fly, battles won behind the net and in the corner by Effinger and Spradling set up O'Kane in front.  O'Kane was knocked down upon receiving the pass but from his knees he somehow was able to deposit the puck in the net.  After no scoring in the OT, the game ended in a tie.
