Jr. Blues Name Captains
Andrew Kurlandski has
been named the 2007-08 St. Louis Jr. Blues Captain.
Andrew is a second year player for the Jr. Blues who
has consistently exhibited the qualities of a Jr.
Blues Captain. Last season, Andrew worked his
way from a practice squad player to a top line forward
for the National Champion Jr. Blues. Andrew has
the quite, businesslike leadership that will set the
tone for the young Jr. Blues squad. A strong,
two-way forward who always plays a team game. A
player that can be counted on by his teammates on and
off the ice, the Jr. Blues are fortunate to have his
leadership.
Philip Blackwood has been named an
Alternate Captain for the 2007-08 St. Louis Jr. Blues.
Phil is in his second season for the Jr. Blues after
being a key offensive weapon for the 2007 National
Champions. Phil has on ice qualities of a great
team player and off ice leadership that will be
counted on to allow his young teammates to mature
quickly. Phil always exhibits great concern and
care for his team and in particular his teammates.
Grant Boyd has also been named as an
Alternate Captain for the 2007-08 St. Louis Jr. Blues.
Grant is in his second season with the Jr. Blues.
Two years ago Grant was a practice squad player who
worked diligently on his weaknesses to earn a spot on
the roster last season. Grant was a steady and
key member of the National Champion defense corps.
Grant has also taken locker room responsibility of
leadership through example. Grant will be the
steadying influence the Jr. Blues will count on with
their young defense corps.
