JR. BLUES FORWARD MITCHELL EARNS NAHL ROSTER SPOT

Oct 28, 2015

ST LOUIS, MO—The St Louis Jr. Blues are proud to announce that forward Zach Mitchell has been called up by the Brookings Blizzard of the North American Hockey League.

A 5’11”, 175 lb right wing, Mitchell is one of the Jr. Blues’ leaders on offense, with 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points in 12 games played. He is the 2nd Jr. Blues player to be promoted to the North America Hockey League this season: earlier this year, his linemate Bayley Marshall was acquired by Kenai River.

St Louis head coach Chris Flaugher commented on the move: “Zach has been one of the top offensive players in the league this season. His play has created an opportunity with Brookings and we are excited for him. Zach is another example of a player moving from the NA3HL to the NAHL, the only tier II league in the United States, and that's what our program is all about.”

Mitchell is the sixth NA3HL player to have moved on to the NAHL this season alone, joining more than 40 others that were promoted in 2014-15.
