JR. BLUES DEFENSEMAN NOLAN SIGNS NAHL TENDER WITH SPRINGFIELD

Feb 24, 2016

The St Louis Jr. Blues of the NA3HL is proud to announce that defenseman Joe Nolan has signed a tender with the Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League.

The 6’4”, 210lb right-hander has established himself as one of the league’s top two-way defenders. He is currently tied for fourth in the NA3HL amongst defensemen in scoring (9G+27A=36P), leads all Jr. Blues defensemen in plus/minus with +28, and was most recently named to the NA3HL Top Prospects U18 Red team, where he again led his team’s blue-liners with three points (one goal, two assists) as his side went undefeated.

St Louis head coach Chris Flaugher commented on the move: “Joe has been an impact player for us all season. He has come in from Day 1 looking to make himself a better player and has been putting in the work to improve his game. For his work, Joe was rewarded by being offered a tender from the Springfield Jr. Blues. I feel with Joe’s work ethic and desire to be successful; he can make a name for himself at the next level.”

Nolan joins a long list of players who have made the trek up Interstate 55 to play for the NAHL Jr. Blues.

Four other St Louis Jr. Blues were promoted to America’s only Tier II junior hockey league mid-season, with Frankie Melton going to Bismarck, Bayley Marshall and Zach Mitchell currently skating with Brookings, and goalie Zach Young spending a weekend with Springfield. Nolan is the sixth NA3HL player this season to sign an NAHL tender.
