Cox's big night helped the Jr. Blues crush the Whalers 9-4

Jake Cox had a big night with 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) as the St. Louis Jr. Blues crushed the Wisconsin Whalers 9-4 in a home game at Affton Ice Rink in St. Louis. What's more, the St. Louis Jr. Blues' offense had a big night, peppering Wisconsin with 45 shots throughout the game. The St. Louis Jr. Blues took the lead late in the second on a goal from Cameron Mcatee.

Dante Jones chipped in with 2 goals and Cameron Mcatee delivered for his team with 2 goals. Sam Hanson did his part, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

During the first, Jones opened the scoring for the Jr. Blues with a goal at 2:06 with a helper from Winter. Hazelton quickly followed with a goal at 3:38 with assists from his linemates, Papa and Carroll. Jones deposited a goal at 13:24 with a helper from defenseman Hohl.

During the second period, Hatton scored a goal at 9:10 with assists from his teammates Shively and Cox. Hanson quickly followed with a goal at 9:55. Mcatee answered for St. Louis with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 15:20 with helpers from Cox and Galaguzov. Mcdermott answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 17:34 with assists from Vandervalk and Fortin.

In the third period, Marshman deposited a goal at 6:21 with helpers from his linemates, Hanson and Grobstick. Mcatee quickly followed with a goal at 7:04 with assists from Dunaway and Yurisich. Fisk answered for the Whalers with a goal at 10:14 with a helper from Hanson. Galaguzov quickly followed with a goal at 10:36 with an assist from his linemate Cox. Cox put in a goal at 12:57 with helpers from Jones and Papa. Shively quickly followed with a goal at 13:55 with an assist from Cox.

The Jr. Blues’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Bjella as he stopped 15 of the 19 shots he faced. Bjella’s counterpart, Earls, also had a big night, managing to stop 20 of 25, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the St. Louis Jr. Blues’ record to (38-9-0-0).
