Berner To Lindenwood

St. Louis Jr. Blues defenseman Barclay Berner has commited to Lindenwood University, the defending ACHA DI National Champions for the 2010-11 school year.  Berner is a two year member of the Jr. Blues and was the team\’s captain in 2000-10 season that saw the Jr. Blues win a League Championship, Huster Cup Championship and a USA Hockey Tier III Jr. A National Championship. 

According to Jr. Blues Head Coach Jack Behan, \”Barclay Berner has been the rock we needed on defense to win a National Championship.  Going to a program like Lindenwood where they are two time defending ACHA Division I Champions will be a great fit for Barclay and Lindenwood.\” 

Lindenwood Head Coach Derek Schaub is excited by the signing.  Says Behan, \”I was talking to Coach Schaub last weekend and he is really excited about adding a defenseman who should come in and be a big part of their team right away.  I told Coach Schaub that he is gaining a very solid, physical defenseman with character that is off the charts.  We are very proud of Barc and wish him continued success.\”

Berner joins four former Jr. Blues at Lindenwood, Cory Spradling, Brett Morrell, Tim Gardner, and Ryan Divito.
